More Omicron sub-lineages of COVID-19 were detected in Regina’s wastewater in September.
The University of Regina released the results of its weekly wastewater study Monday and it showed “the highly transmissible and immune evasive Omicron sub-lineages BQ.1/BQ.1.11 & BA.2.75.2” were detected during the month.
The U of R also changed the graph, and that alteration showed that COVID levels in Regina’s wastewater over the summer “have mostly remained above the highest levels measured pre-Omicron.”
“The latest measurements are at 72 per cent of the highest levels of the Omicron wave (April ’22) and are considered to be moderate-high in the new scale,” the U of R said in a post on social media.
