An 18-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing sent a person to hospital in Regina.
Regina police issued a news release Friday afternoon, more than a week after the incident. The police service said officers were called to a residence in the 3000 block of Parliament Avenue for a weapons offence around 7 a.m. on Sept. 26.
When they got there, police said they found a male victim suffering what appeared to be knife wounds.
He was taken to hospital, and was expected to survive.
Witnesses said the suspect got there just before 7 a.m., there was an altercation, then the victim was assaulted with what was described as a bladed weapon.
The suspect left before police arrived. Two days later, the 18-year-old was found and arrested in Weyburn.
Police said they will not be releasing his name because it is a domestic conflict, and they want to protect the identity of the victims and witnesses.
The alleged perpetrator has already made his first court appearance. That happened on Sept. 29.
