The Turnor Lake RCMP didn’t have any trouble tracking down an alleged impaired ATV driver early Sunday.
The Mounties say she crashed into their vehicle.
According to the RCMP, officers got a call Sunday at about 3 a.m., about someone uttering threats at a house on the Birch Narrows Dene Nation.
“The officers parked their police vehicle near the residence and got out to investigate the call,” the RCMP said in a release. “While walking to the residence, officers observed an ATV travelling toward them at a high rate of speed. At the last minute, the ATV veered and struck the police vehicle head-on.”
The driver of the ATV, a 30-year-old woman, wasn’t hurt. However, she was arrested and charged with one count of impaired operation of a conveyance and one count of failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
She’s to appear in court in Turnor Lake on Nov. 23.
Turnor Lake is about 75 kilometres east of La Loche.
