A 30-year-old man is facing charges after a 93-year-old man was robbed in the bathroom of a Regina restaurant in late September.
On Sept. 27 at about 8:20 a.m., police were called to a restaurant in the 2600 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a robbery.
In a release, police said the victim told officers he had gone into the bathroom, where he was “overpowered” by another man. That individual reached into the victim’s pocket and grabbed his wallet.
“Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor injuries,” the release said.
Police said the suspect had his face covered as he left the bathroom. The police investigation led to the identification of a suspect, who was arrested Friday.
The 30-year-old was charged with robbery and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence. He made his first court appearance Monday.
