A 73-year-old man from Pilger is dead after a crash between two pickup trucks on a grid road near that community Monday afternoon.
Pilger is about 30 kilometres north of Humboldt.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Humboldt detachment got a call about the crash just before 4 p.m. Police determined an eastbound pickup truck and a westbound pickup truck had collided.
The driver of one of the trucks was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver and the passenger of the other truck were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Humboldt RCMP and an RCMP collision reconstructionist are investigating the crash.
