10:00- Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced back in May that the government was initiating an action plan to freeze the importation and selling of handguns. It was announced on Friday that this law was immediately in effect, but it will not come into action until November 9. 11:30– Should your race be put on identification such as a driver’s license? Well, the Edmonton Police Commission says yes. The Edmonton police service wants to urge the Alberta Government to add an individual’s race to their government-issued identifications. According to an article by Global News, the idea came up last week after the commission received information from Statistics Canada. The Edmonton Police service says this data can help identify which groups are subjected to certain crimes. Right now, there is no information as to when or if this will come into effect. 12:00– Jessica Sheldon, an assistant professor in biochemistry, microbiology and immunology at the U of S joins Gormley to discuss recent research on Acinetobacter baumannii, a pathogen that is found in hospitals worldwide. Sheldon shares the key findings in this research.
