10:00 – The cost of groceries continues to climb. In September grocery prices were up 11.4 percent compared to one year ago. The major increase in costs has people thinking up strategies to save money. According to a survey by the Canadian Hub for Applied and Social Research at the University of Saskatchewan, most people are using coupons or are hunting for deals, and some people are making even more difficult choices, like skipping meals. The survey also found that food bank use is highest on the Prairies. Jessica McCutcheon, associate director of the research hub, joins Gormley to discuss the finding of the survey.
