The Spirit of Edmonton breakfast kicks off Saturday’s activities at the Grey Cup Festival in Regina.
The event is to run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Conexus Arts Centre. Tickets are $135 apiece.
Once again, the REAL District campus will play host to most of the events during the day.
The NexGen Energy Street Festival is to begin at 11 a.m. in Confederation Park. The free event features a giant outdoor playground with the SaskPower Tube Slide, axe-throwing, relay games, a community stage and a large inflatable football game.
The SaskPower Family Fair is set to open at 11 a.m. at the AffinityPlex. The fair is free and features inflatables, a youth football area, player-led drills, interactive skills competitions and other events.
The Digital Zone presented by SaskTel is to open at 11 a.m. at the International Trade Centre. There’s no admission for the interactive technology event, which features a virtual field-goal kicking competition, a head-to-head video game challenge, photo opportunities and a virtual reality arcade.
Also at 11 a.m., Gainer’s Heartland is to open at the Ag-Ex Building. The free event is geared toward kids under the age of five and features photo booths, face-painting, hair-braiding, a soft play area, a private nursing area, and stuffies.
Musical acts are to perform on a community stage throughout the day in Confederation Park. The free event is set to run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Also at 11 a.m., kids between the ages of five and 12 can participate in Huddle in the Heartland, where they can learn the skills required to play football. The free event is to be held in the AffinityPlex.
Confederation Park is to be the site of the Calgary Grey Cup Committee pancake breakfast starting at 11 a.m. It’s free to attend.
Some of the team party rooms are scheduled to open at noon in the International Trade Centre and will remain open all day. The Spirit of Edmonton is situated at the Conexus Arts Centre.
A cheer extravaganza is to start at 1 p.m., at the Brandt Centre. For $20, fans can watch their favourite CFL dance and cheer teams, as well as local teams.
The CFLPA Players Headquarters, where fans can meet stars of the league, opens at 1 p.m. at the Fat Badger at 1852 Scarth St. It’s free to attend.
The second day of the esports Path to Glory tournament is to start at 4 p.m., in the Brandt Centre. The free event will feature more than 200 professional players from across Canada facing off in a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament.
Weather permitting, the NexGen Energy Drone Show is to begin at 6 p.m., with a second performance set for 9 p.m. The best place to view the free show is Confederation Park.
The Canadiana Gala is to begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Queensbury Centre. Tickets are $295, which will get patrons a meal and a show by The Road Hammers.
