Rent reduced for Riders, early budget items approved by Regina Council

Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
Christmas is coming early to a couple of locations in Regina.
On Friday at 5:30 p.m., the Old-fashioned Victorian Christmas is to begin at Government House on Dewdney Avenue.
The free event features horse-drawn wagon rides, hot cocoa, a holiday photo booth, caroling and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
On Dec. 3, a Whoville-inspired village is to open at Wascana Place in Wascana Centre.
The indoor and outdoor event is to include horse and carriage rides, holiday crafts, a winter birding scavenger hunt, a winter animal CSI challenge, a live turtle meet-and-greet, and animal adaptations for winter survival.
The event is to take place from noon to 3 p.m.
