A Regina man is facing 15 charges after he allegedly beat up another man who was trying to stop a break-in.
According to police, officers responded Monday at around 10 a.m., to a location in the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue East for a gun call.
When police arrived, the victim said he had tried to stop another man who was breaking into the victim’s vehicle. When the man confronted the suspect, the suspect hit the victim in the face with what appeared to be a gun.
The suspect ran off while the victim dealt with minor injuries. Officers found the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident.
The 30-year-old was charged with three counts of breaching a prohibition order, two counts each of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, and one count each of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, uttering death threats, pointing a firearm while uttering death threats, possession of a weapon, possession of ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, and breach of an undertaking.
He made his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
