After taking a lead into the fourth quarter, the Saskatchewan Rush suffered its first loss of the season 13-12 against the San Diego Seals in overtime.
The Rush were in control for most of the game and carried a 10-4 lead going into the fourth quarter only to give up eight unanswered goals to begin the fourth.
Robert Church led the way for the Rush on the scoresheet notching four goals and six points on the night — including a goal with less than a minute left in the fourth to send it to an extra frame.
Curtis Dickson put it away in overtime though, netting his fourth goal of the game.
The loss is also Rush Head Coach Jimmy Quinlan’s first regular season loss after sporting a 4-0 record to finish last season and then winning last week’s season opener against Colorado.
The Rush will have plenty of time to think about what went wrong Friday night as they aren’t back in action until New Year’s Eve when they go up against the Panther City Lacrosse Club at the SaskTel Centre.
