The Regina Pats will have another representative at the 2023 world junior hockey championship.
Pats defenceman Stanislav Svozil, 19, will play for Czechia at the tournament, which is set for Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Halifax and Moncton.
It’ll be his third appearance in the world junior championship; he has one goal and three assists in 11 games over his previous two tournaments.
So far this season, Svozil has five goals and 32 assists in 28 games. He headed for the world junior event as the WHL’s leader in assists among defencemen and was tied for first among blueliners in points.
Czechia begins its tournament Dec. 26 against Canada, which includes his Pats teammate, Connor Bedard.
