There was no shortage of goals as the Saskatoon Blades walloped the Medicine Hat Tigers 8-3 Tuesday night.
The Blades seemed to feel right at home at the SaskTel Centre, extending the team’s winning streak to seven, with nine wins in their last 10 contests.
The Tigers had high hopes when Brandon Lee opened the scoring late in the first period and gave Medicine Hat a 1-0 lead going into the second. But that’s when the Blades woke up, scoring six unanswered goals in the second and third.
Brandon Lisowsky, Tanner Molendyk, Justin Lies, Conner Roulette, Vaughn Watterodt and Egor Sidorov all found the back of the net before the Tigers’ Shane Smith stopped the onslaught.
Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Roulette – who scored his second of the night – put the game officially out of reach in the third, although Oasiz Wiesblatt of the Tigers still managed to score the final goal of the game.
Roulette finished the night with four points coming from two goals and two assists, and Molendyk had three points with a single goal and two assists. Ethan Chadwick made 31 saves to help claim the victory.
Next up for the Blades is a match against the Spokane Chiefs at home on Friday night.
