The Blades are on quite a roll as they’ve won its past eight games in a row.
They completed the feat on Friday night beating Spokane 8-5 which included 10 goals in total scored in the final period.
But Trevor Wong scored early in the first period — something he’s done all season — to open the scoring and would end up finishing the night with two points.
Blades forward Brandon Lisowsky followed by scoring two goals in the first and second periods to give the team a 3-0 lead heading into the third.
That’s when the floodgates opened.
Spokane opened the period with two goals from Chase Bertholet and Tommaso De Luca before the Blades responded with two of their own from Blake Gustafson and Aidan De La Gorgendiere.
With a 5-2 lead almost halfway through the final frame, some may have thought that would do it for Spokane but they cut the Blades’ lead to one.
Brayden Crampton and Berkly Catton scored to make it 5-4.
Justin Lies closed the door for any comeback by restoring the two-goal lead and then Lisowsky capped his night with a hat trick — finishing the night with five points — putting the Blades up 7-4.
Bertholet then scored his second of the night for Spokane, but Egor Sidorov sealed the game for Saskatoon by potting an empty-netter.
During its eight-game win streak, the Blades have scored 46 goals in that span including back-to-back games scoring eight.
The Blades will travel to Regina on Saturday night to face the Pats at the Brandt Centre to play its final game before Christmas. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
