A 21-year-old man from Milden is dead after the SUV he was driving collided with a semi Thursday evening.
According to the RCMP, the vehicles collided on Highway 15 near Sovereign, southeast of Rosetown. The driver of the SUV was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, the RCMP said, and his family has been notified of the death. The driver of the semi didn’t report any injuries.
The highway was closed for about six hours following the collision, and the RCMP said the crash remains under investigation with help from a collision reconstruction expert.
The RCMP urged drivers passing the scene to slow down and use caution because diesel fuel from the semi spilled onto the roadway and that stretch of highway may still be very slippery.
