Many have grown accustomed to the convenience of online shopping — especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
But for some, absolutely nothing beats physically going to a store on a day like Boxing Day.
Best Buy on Prince of Wales in Regina was bustling today with many customers looking to see what sort of deals the store was offering.
“You know us Xbox players are always looking around the house for batteries and stuff like that,” said avid gamer Carter Alexson.
While the store was busy Monday, he said it was probably less so than last year due to COVID restrictions which had customers lined up outside the building.
This sentiment was echoed by Breckyn McKean who bought a 55-inch TV from Best Buy today.
“I’ve been able to experience (Boxing Day) whether it was online or in-person,” he said.
McKean said he definitely prefers in-person shopping though.
Additionally, Jaxon Runge was looking to buy some gifts for loved ones.
He said he occasionally visits Best Buy on Boxing Day.
“Last year I didn’t do much Boxing Day shopping at all, probably because of the pandemic,” Runge said.
The store will be open until 9 p.m..
