Regina police have charged two men after a raid on a house on Pasqua Street on Wednesday.
According to police, the raid was “the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit into illegal firearm possession and drug trafficking in the city of Regina.”
Members of that unit were assisted by the SWAT team, patrol officers and a crisis negotiator when they descended on a house in the 4700 block of Pasqua Street on Wednesday night. A search warrant was executed and six guns, a large quantity of ammunition and small quantities of controlled substances were found.
A 31-year-old Regina man faces 25 charges: Six each of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and possession of a firearm while prohibited; four of possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition; and three of possession of ammunition while prohibited.
A 30-year-old man from Regina is facing six charges of unsafe storage of a firearm, six of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and four of possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition.
The men made their first court appearances on Thursday.
