A 41-year-old man from Churchbridge was killed in a crash between a train and an SUV in that town Friday.
The RCMP only released the information Monday, saying officers from the Esterhazy detachment got a call just before 7 p.m., about the crash at a crossing.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene. Police said two passengers in the SUV were taken to hospital: A boy with injuries that were described as serious but non-life-threatening, and a girl with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The Esterhazy RCMP is investigating with help from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and CP Police Service.
The police release didn’t say what the train was carrying or if there were any injuries on the train.
Churchbridge is about 210 kilometres northeast of Regina.
