Four of the nine people charged in connection with the death of Megan Gallagher — whose remains were found near St. Louis in September — have had their preliminary hearings set.
Robert James Thomas, 27, and Summer-Sky Henry, 24, are two of the four people charged with first-degree murder and are to share a preliminary hearing date on June 30 in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
Thomas Sutherland, 43, is also to have a preliminary hearing at the same time, but for a charge of unlawful confinement.
Cheyann Peeteetuce, 29, and Roderick Sutherland, 44, have first-degree murder charges as well and are to be in court at the same time but for case management only.
The second man facing unlawful confinement charges, Robin Tyler John, 34, is to have a show-cause hearing on Sept. 26 in Saskatoon along with a preliminary hearing.
The three people charged with committing an indignity to Gallagher’s remains have upcoming court appearances as well.
Jessica Badger, who also goes by Sutherland, is set to appear in court on Feb. 14 to elect judge or jury trial, Ernest Whitehead is to appear the following day for the same purpose and John Wayne Sanderson is to do the same on March 1.
Gallagher, who grew up in Saskatoon, Ile-a-la-Crosse, and Cumberland House, was last seen alive at a convenience store in Saskatoon in late September 2020.
Her remains were found along the South Saskatchewan River near St. Louis, 35 kilometres south of Prince Albert, almost exactly two years later. Her remains were found within hours of the search beginning.
