The freezing rain that hit parts of southern Saskatchewan on Wednesday morning has passed, but more precipitation could be on the way.
According to Janelle Gergely, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, the southeast corner of the province could still see more freezing rain.
“But for Regina and Saskatoon, we can just expect light snow for the remainder of the day,” Gergely said. “It looks like (Saskatoon) is right on the edge of it though, so it may actually even stay out.”
While it may pass over Saskatoon altogether, Gergely said the snow will probably arrive in Regina in the afternoon.
After the snow and clouds move through, Gergely said sunny and mild conditions are expected for the remainder of the week, with temperatures above freezing heading into the weekend.
“We are sitting at temperatures above normal for the rest of the week,” Gergely said.
The Highway Hotline didn’t have any advisories on Wednesday afternoon, but 650 CKOM’s Sandee Reed sent in a photograph of Highway 11 near Findlater showing the road was basically down to one lane.
