Families are invited to celebrate Family Day at Government House in Regina.
According to the Provincial Capital Commission, Government House will feature free programming Monday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Attractions are to include:
- The Wide Open Children’s Theatre’s performance of a 20-minute puppet show of the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, inside the Henry Newlands Ballroom;
- Various board games and puzzles set up by the Escape Club in Sir Richard Lake Hall;
- The Amédée Forget Museum, which provides a glimpse of what life was like in the early 1900s; and
- The Once Upon a Time Room, which features a number of play areas with hands-on activities, toys, books, and play stations for kids aged two to seven.
No registration is required.
Family Day schedule
The City of Regina has released its Family Day schedule.
Civic offices: Closed.
Landfill: Open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; entry gates close at 5:15 p.m.
Garbage collection: All garbage will be picked up as usual.
Recycling: All recycling will be picked up as usual.
Regina Transit: Service provided using Sunday routes and schedules; Information Centre and RIDELine are closed.
Paratransit Service: Operating on holiday schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Riverside Memorial Park and Regina cemeteries: Offices are closed; gates open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
North West Leisure Centre: Open from noon to 6 p.m.
Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre: Open from noon to 6 p.m.
Sportplex – Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre: Closed for Saskatchewan Winter Games.
Parking meters: Not in effect.
