Some hospitals and medical teams were not able to access patient records Friday due to a connectivity issue with eHealth Saskatchewan.
A statement from the health network said it became aware of the issue early Friday morning, which led to intermittent or full outages across the province.
The problems related to accessing and authentication of electronic records, and the Saskatchewan Health Authority notified emergency departments to temporarily use paper records in order to make sure care continued for patients without interruption.
eHealth said EMS asked patients to bring a list of medications before leaving their homes.
No surgeries were cancelled and all scheduled lab appointments continued, even though there was a pause on non-scheduled appointments, according to eHealth.
The issue that caused the province-wide problem has been identified and addressed, eHealth noted, and access is either partially or fully restored.
