Vandalism forces Nipawin school to close Monday

A school in Nipawin has been forced to close for Monday after vandals struck the building this weekend.

In a post on its Facebook page, Wagner Elementary School told students and parents it would be closed all day Monday in order for staff to clean the school and put the classrooms back in order.

The post said vandals hit the school early Sunday.

Photos sent to northeastNOW showed part of the exterior damaged, chairs and other pieces of furniture flown to the hallways.

The school said it hopes to have classes resume on Tuesday but will inform parents by 1 p.m. on Monday.
