'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
It came down to the final seconds, but the Saskatchewan Rush fell to the San Diego Seals 12-11 at the SaskTel Centre on Saturday.
The road team dominated early but Clark Walter’s five goal effort along with Robert Church’s seven-point performance gave Saskatchewan a chance after a flurry of goals in the fourth quarter.
However, the comeback stalled. The Rush were unable to capitalize on a late opportunity as the Western Conference leading Seals snuck away from Saskatoon with a 12-11 victory.
Next up, 5-6 Saskatchewan will head to Calgary for St Patrick’s Day and a matchup with the Roughnecks on Friday.
