A fire that claimed the lives of two people in Moose Jaw in late February has been deemed accidental.
In a media release Thursday, the Moose Jaw Police Service said its investigation – in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency – determined the fire “was not caused by human hand.”
“As no foul play is suspected, the MJPS have concluded their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire and the deaths of the occupants,” the release said.
On Feb. 23, firefighters responded to the 200 block of Athabasca Street West for a call about a fire in a multi-unit home.
After the fire was extinguished, searchers found the bodies of two people in the rubble of the three-storey building.
