Police in Regina stopped a city bus Thursday morning and arrested a teenager who allegedly claimed to have a gun.
According to police, officers were notified at around 10:20 a.m. about a person on a city bus claiming to be armed with a firearm.
The University of Regina tweeted out a warning when the incident began.
Please avoid the Krammer Blvd entrance and the south west side of campus, Regina Police are currently dealing with an emergency situation in that area.

The school issued a subsequent tweet to tell people the situation had been resolved.

Later Thursday, the Regina Police Service issued a media release containing more details about the incident.
“Police performed a high-risk vehicle stop on the bus on University Drive, and the passengers exited safely,” police said. “The male was arrested without incident. A firearm was not located, and the male was subsequently charged.”
Police said a 17-year-old, who can’t be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had been charged with public mischief. He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance on May 9.
