12:00 – Today is World Tuberculosis Day which is still the second leading cause of death in the world. Even with multi-drug treatment programs available it is complex with unpleasant side-effects and many patients don’t adhere to treatment. Dr. Jeffrey Chen is a Research Scientists at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) at the University of Saskatchewan and joins Gormley to discuss his work on developing a new Tuberculosis vaccine to help with treatments.
