Regina is moving to weekly garbage collection for many homes starting Monday.
In a media release Thursday, the City of Regina said residents will be able to roll out their brown carts each week on their designated collection day. That schedule is slated to end in late summer when the city issues green food and yard waste carts to all homes in the city.
“For households (already) participating in the food and yard waste pilot, green cart service will switch to weekly collection beginning the week of Monday, April 3,” the city said. “However, brown cart collection will remain biweekly.”
Starting April 10, the hours at the city’s landfill and yard waste depot will expand to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Sunday. As well, the yard waste depot located near the landfill will reopen April 10 and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
