Shake the Lake is returning to Regina this August and will feature classic rock groups performing some of their biggest hits.
The festival will be held on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 right in front of the Conexus Arts Centre.
Arts centre CEO Neil Donnelly unveiled the lineup on the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Tuesday. Tickets are to go on sale Thursday at noon.
“Friday night starts with SAGA and then we go into Harlequin and Kim Mitchell,” Donnelly said. “Harlequin was (at the festival) on our very first year. We’re into Year 5 plus a year off with COVID, I believe.”
Donnelly said the Canadian acts generally like to stay north of the border.
“We like to have our Canadians represented well in the lineup, but we always like to mix it up and throw a couple of American acts into the mix,” he added.
The second day of the festival will start with Lee Aaron, Donnelly said.
“We’ve got Aldo Nova coming … (for) the first time (to) Regina in 30 years or so,” Donnelly continued. “Then we have Chilliwack. Then we’re closing the night with Collective Soul.”
Donnelly said people keep coming back to Shake the Lake because of its outdoor setting, music and overall vibe.
“It’s just everything we put together has seemed to work. The crowd that we have, they love the experience,” he said. “It doesn’t matter who we’ve put on the lineup. Whether it’s something (the crowd initially) liked or didn’t like … they put on a great show. They’re professional performers.”
