Police in Regina have charged a 37-year-old man with manslaughter in connection with a 33-year-old man’s death.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of Rae Street for a weapons complaint early Wednesday morning.
“Early information provided to police suggested a male was injured inside the residence,” police said in a statement. “Patrol officers attended and located the body of an adult male, who was confirmed deceased by EMS.”
Police said the dead man was identified as Justin Michael Lankey, and his next of kin have been notified.
After an investigation, police said 37-year-old Mitchell Ernest Sanderson of Regina has been charged with manslaughter.
The case marks the city’s second homicide investigation of 2023, police said.
