A man was shot at on Broad Street, south of Victoria Avenue, just after midnight Saturday while a man and a woman were allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.
Regina police say the stolen SUV clipped another vehicle, damaging the rear passenger door, and sped off.
Police say an off-duty officer saw the SUV and police conducted what they call “covert surveillance” on the vehicle.
On Sunday evening, officers spotted the SUV they believe was involved in that shooting on Albert Street North, just south of Ring Road — the man who got out was arrested.
Officers then arrested a woman who was in the SUV. The vehicle had been reported stolen Mar. 22.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found a loaded .22 calibre rifle.
A 28-year-old Regina man is facing several charges, including possessing property obtained by crime, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of firearm in a vehicle and driving while prohibited.
A woman, 26, faces charges for possessing property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of identity documents and for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon.
As of Sunday night, no charges had been laid in relation to the shooting but police said they’re still investigating.
