The City of Regina is getting started on spring cleaning.
The city’s spring street sweeping starts Monday, with crews starting on high-traffic roads like Ring Road and Lewvan. The sweepers will then move into the downtown, Cathedral, General Hospital and Heritage areas, the city said.
In May, the crews will move into more residential areas, and the city said more detailed updates on the work will be provided when that happens.
It’s important to watch out for no parking signs, the city noted, as vehicles parked in those zones could be hit with a $120 ticket or even towed.
“Residents are reminded to park off-street on scheduled days to help ensure crews can sweep the entire road,” the city said in a statement.
The city offers a Sweep&Plow app, which alerts residents to move their cars when the sweepers come through.
Be sure to give street sweepers lots of room, the city added, as they can create dust clouds that reduce visibility.
