Police say the wind in Regina increased the number of victims of a bear spray attack Saturday.
According to Regina police, the incident happened at around 5:45 p.m., near the Wascana Racing Canoe Club on Wascana Drive.
“When police arrived, they found two male victims in distress, visibly suffering from the effects of bear spray,” police said in a media release. “EMS treated the two male victims on scene. Investigation led police to four other victims suffering minor effects from exposure to the spray.
“Witnesses told police that they, and the victims, were walking in the area when a group of five young adults approached them and two of (the group) sprayed the victims with bear spray. Wind carried the spray to a second group walking nearby.”
Police said one of the suspects was a boy between the ages of 12 and 14 who was wearing a red hoodie. The other suspect was described as a boy about 12 to 14 years old who was wearing a white hoodie with cursive writing on it.
