Residents of an area of Buena Vista were ordered to shelter in place Friday afternoon as the RCMP and Regina Police Service conducted what a police release called “a joint police operation.”
In the release issued just after 2 p.m., police urged drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area around Little Grand Avenue in the village that’s about 50 kilometres north of Regina.
Just before 5 p.m., police sent out an update saying the operation was complete.
“Those in the area can resume activities as normal,” said the release, which noted the investigation is continuing.
