A 21-year-old Weyburn man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
Police said the investigation began in January and, on Wednesday, members of the ICE Unit and Weyburn Police Service executed a search warrant at a home in Weyburn. Several electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis.
The man was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count each of making child pornography available and bestiality.
He also was charged in relation to another child pornography investigation that was conducted by the Weyburn Police Service. That investigation began in September.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit includes investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. The unit investigates crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet.
