Saskatchewan’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a Regina man with four counts of child luring.
Police said the Saskatchewan ICE Unit worked alongside a similar unit out of Peterborough in an eight-day investigation over a number of social media platforms.
On Thursday, police charged 37-year-old Warren Gnam. Police said he was active on several social media applications using both his own name and the alias “Captain Canada.”
Gnam was released from custody Friday with a court appearance scheduled for next month, police said.
“The Saskatchewan ICE Unit reminds parents of the importance in monitoring your child’s online social media presence and taking a proactive approach to help protect them from online sexual exploitation by discussing internet safety and the disclosure of personal information,” police said in a statement.
