The Regina Police Service believes it has broken up what it called “a criminal organization” that was operating in Regina.
In a media release Friday, police said a three-month-long investigation by their Street Gang Unit led to the arrests of four men and two women.
A 36-year-old Regina man was charged with instructing the commission of a criminal offence for a criminal organization, kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, attempt to obstruct justice, intimidation of a justice system participant, uttering death threats, and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
Three men — aged 19, 29 and 30 — also were arrested, as were a 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman. They all were charged with commission of a criminal offence for a criminal organization.
Police said they wouldn’t be providing the names of those five people as the investigation is continuing.
