RCMP have arrested the man accused in a hit-and-run that killed a young child in Saskatchewan.
A one-year-old boy died after being hit by a pickup truck on the George Gordon First Nation on Thursday evening.
On Friday night, Mounties arrested 33-year-old Mervin Poorman at a home in Cold Lake, Alta.
Following the hit-and-run, a warrant was issued for his arrest and he was charged with one count each of failure to stop after an accident resulting in death and operation of a vehicle while prohibited.
The RCMP does not know yet when Poorman will be returned to Saskatchewan or when his first court appearance will be.
