Smith Street near City Hall is about to get a little busier.
With 2023 property taxes due by Friday, the City of Regina is opening the drive-thru kiosk on Smith next to City Hall. The kiosk is to be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A media release from the city said the kiosk only accepts cheques, and residents must include their tax bill when paying. The city encouraged people to have their cheques filled out before arriving at the kiosk.
Taxes also can be paid in person at City Hall by cash, cheque or debit Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., or through a bank (online, in person or by using telebanking).
The city also has its Tax Installment Payment Plan Service (TIPPS), which lets residents pay their property taxes in 12 smaller monthly payments.
Payments received or dated after Friday are subject to a monthly penalty.
“Property tax notices were mailed on May 26 and homeowners can contact the City if they were lost or not received,” the release said, adding that property owners also can access their assessment and tax information at Regina.ca/eproperty.
