The Saskatchewan RCMP says officers are preparing to share an update in a historical homicide case.
According to police, the update coming Tuesday afternoon relates to the death of Misha Pavelick, who was 19 years old when he was killed over the May long weekend in 2006 after a fight broke out at a high school camping party near Regina Beach. One other person was also seriously injured in the fight, the RCMP said.
The RCMP said officers with the Historical Case Unit and other officers from specialized units and local detachments have continued to investigate Pavelick’s killing for the past 17 years.
The update is to take place at the Saskatchewan RCMP Headquarters in Regina at 2:30 p.m. Police did not indicate the nature of the announcement.
