A 25-year-old kayaker is dead after his boat overturned on Buffalo Pound Lake.
According to the RCMP, the Moose Jaw man was kayaking at Sand Point Beach Sunday afternoon when his kayak overturned, and he did not re-emerge from the water.
A large search effort began, including the Moose Jaw RCMP and the Regina Fire and Rescue Dive Team.
According to the RCMP, the kayaker’s body was found in the water near where he was last seen about 24 hours after he went into the water.
His family has been notified of the death, the RCMP noted.
In a separate incident, another kayaker was found alive on Canada Day after being missing for several days on Little Manitou Lake.
