A Regina taxi driver was taken to hospital early Saturday after allegedly being assaulted by a fare.
According to Regina police, officers responded at about 3:45 a.m., to the 4500 block of Green Apple Drive for a call about a cabbie who had been assaulted. Police say two women were riding in a taxi when one of them stabbed the driver.
In a media release, police said a canine team found the suspects in a nearby alley. Police allege one of the women assaulted an officer during the course of the arrest.
One of the women was charged with assault with a weapon, while the other was charged with assaulting a peace officer. They’re to appear in court on Sept. 5.
