Woman dies after vehicle-pedestrian collision in Victoria Square Mall parking lot

A woman is dead after a vehicle-pedestrian collision Wednesday in the parking lot of the Victoria Square Mall.

Police said officers responded just after noon to a call that a woman had been hit in the parking lot. A police media release said the woman was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The release didn’t say how old the woman was.

Callers to the 980 CJME newsroom said the east entrance to the parking lot was blocked off and there were several police vehicles at the scene.

Police said officers were continuing their investigation. It’s unknown if charges are expected.
