Conditions are right for the development of severe storms across a large area of central Saskatchewan.
Just after 3 p.m. Thursday, Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches for a wide region of the province, including both Saskatoon and Regina.
The area under the weather alert stretched as far north as Macdowall, east to Fort Qu’Appelle and Wadena, south to Wilcox, and west to Dinsmore and Harris.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Davidson area. About a half-hour later, warnings were also issued for the Gravelbourg and Herbert areas.
Watches mean conditions are right for severe weather to develop, while warnings mean storms are imminent or have already formed.
The latest information on the alerts can be found on Environment Canada’s website.
