Regina police say their officers weren’t overly busy with calls at the Queen City Ex.
In a media release Tuesday — two days after the QCX wrapped up at REAL District — police said officers responded to 22 calls over the five-day event.
Those included 12 reports of lost children who were reunited with family/caregivers, six calls about intoxicated people, two arrests of people wanted on outstanding warrants, and two calls about assaults.
Police said one of the assaults involved a knife and led to a 16-year-old boy being charged with assault with a weapon. The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries, police said.
“RPS had a proactive presence, working in conjunction with REAL District Security,” police said about their work at the exhibition. “Both uniformed and plainclothes officers were in attendance each day/night.”
A spokesperson said the police service also was investigating an incident seen in a social media post that shows an apparent assault on the REAL District grounds.
