A traffic stop in Regina early Friday resulted in weapons charges against two men.
According to police, at about 3:45 a.m., officers saw a vehicle driving erratically and pulled it over in the area of Seventh Avenue and Halifax Street.
Police said that as the officers approached the vehicle, they saw a bulletproof vest and a gun in plain view. The two men inside the vehicle were arrested.
A police release said a subsequent search of the passenger found a knife, ammunition and a quantity of drugs. A search of the vehicle turned up a shotgun and ammunition as well as some illicit drugs.
A 25-year-old Regina man and a 19-year-old man from the Queen City were charged with a number of weapons-related offences. The 25-year-old was charged with dangerous driving as well, while the younger man also is facing a charge of possession of a scheduled substance.
They made their first court appearances Friday.
