A Gravelbourg man is facing criminal charges after a single-vehicle rollover in June.
According to the RCMP, the rollover happened south of Gravelbourg on Highway 58, and police got a report shortly after 4 a.m. on June 18.
The driver and a passenger were taken to hospital for assessment after the crash, the RCMP said, while another passenger – a 20-year-old man from the Gravelbourg area – was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
After a lengthy investigation which police said involved an RCMP collision reconstruction expert, 20-year-old Christopher Otterson, a resident of Gravelbourg, has been charged.
He’s facing one count each of impaired operation of a conveyance causing death, operation of a conveyance while impaired over 80 milligrams causing death, operation of a conveyance while impaired causing bodily harm, and operation of a conveyance while impaired over 80 mg causing bodily harm.
Police said Otterson is set to appear in court early next month.
