A 61-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder after a man was found dead in a Yorkton home.
According to the RCMP, Donna Spilchen was arrested on Friday after Mounties issued a media release asking about her whereabouts.
Initially, the RCMP said it was searching for her to “confirm her safety” in a news release sent out on Friday.
A news release sent on Saturday revealed the victim has been identified as William Byblow. The Mounties say he was found dead at a home at Sixth Avenue North during a welfare check on Wednesday.
Spilchen has been remanded and is scheduled to make her first appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
The release said RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit will continue to investigate.
