A ride in a taxi ended in a police cruiser for two men.
Regina police allege two customers who didn’t want to pay their cab fare robbed the driver and then drove off with his vehicle.
Police were sent to the 1300 block of Wascana Street on Sunday around 2 a.m. The cab driver told officers he was discussing payment with his passengers when one of the men threatened him with a weapon.
The driver ran from the vehicle and was not hurt.
Police say the cab company helped find the vehicle with a GPS system. From there, members of the Regina Police Service, White Butte RCMP, and the RPS canine unit were able to find an empty cab in a field southeast of Regina.
