A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after people allegedly were hit with bear spray in Regina’s Market Square neighbourhood early Sunday.
Police say officers responded to the 2300 block of Dewdney Avenue at around 3:25 a.m., after reports that a male had deployed bear spray.
At the scene, officers found two people who had been sprayed. A boy who was seen leaving the area on foot was taken into custody.

Officers searched the boy and found a can of bear spray and a piece of identification belonging to another person.
“The male was identified and found to be in breach of court-ordered conditions of good behaviour and curfew,” police said in a release.
The 17-year-old, who can’t be named under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply with a disposition, and identity fraud.
He was to appear in court Tuesday.
